Human chain against ex-members Ranju Khan and Roman for interfering in the pool of beneficiaries and obstructing the 3rd gender (Hijra) community living under the Honorable Prime Minister’s Asyrian-II scheme.
An hour-long human chain program was organized by the 3rd gender (transgender) community in the Chapainawabganj District Commissioner’s office premises on Wednesday (June 07) morning.
Bobita, the district leader of Manabbandhane (Hijra) community complained and said that after gifting 41 houses in Switchgate area in Bargharia Union of Chapai Nawabganj Sadar Upazila under the shelter-2 project of Honorable Prime Minister Mujib Barsha, each beneficiary demanded Tk 01 lakh from the Hijra community. Hijras have been given a government pond. Ranju Khan, a former member of Bargharia Union, demanded Tk 05 lakh for the pond. They said they filed a written complaint at Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station. So far the police could not arrest them. He demanded fair trial from Chapainawabganj administration. On the same day, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Sheikh Hasina, screamed for justice and said these things.
Chapainawabganj district hijra organization leader Babita, Esha, Payal, Prathana, Ujjal and more than 50 members including beneficiaries of the hijra community were present.
Chapainawabganj Sadar Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sajjad Hossain asked about this matter, he said that district hijra community leader Babita filed a written complaint against former member Ranju Khan of Barogharia Union. He said that this matter is under investigation.
