National Desk: Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman paid a courtesy call on Interim Government’s Chief of Staff Dr. Muhammad Yunus. The meeting was held at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday (March 19).
During the meeting, the Army Chief briefed the Chief of Staff on the overall security situation in the country and the ongoing activities of the army. They also discussed various steps taken by the army for the development and stability of the country.
This information was given in a press release sent by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The ISPR said that during the discussion, the Army Chief informed the Chief of Staff about his recent visit to the Central African Republic. The Army Chief expressed hope that this visit will play a helpful role in improving relations and increasing military cooperation between the two countries.
In addition, the Chief of Army Staff informed the Chief Advisor about the evaluation and recommendations of the recently concluded High-Level Council on ensuring justice for various deprived army officers and the progress of the ongoing High-Level Council on JCOs and other ranks of army members dismissed for various reasons.
The Chief Advisor was also informed about the various steps taken by the Bangladesh Army in the treatment of students and people injured in the July-August mass uprising.
At this time, the Chief Advisor praised the role and contribution of the Army and gave the necessary guidance to the Army in future activities.
The Chief Advisor expressed hope that the Army will continue to perform its duties with professionalism and dedication to ensure the sovereignty and security of the country.
