In Kushtia’s Bheramara, there have been allegations of Ansar taking VDP jobs by changing birth year and fake NID card. In the name of Md. Rajiv Ali, son of Md. Bahar Ali of Dharampur Dakshin Bhabanipur village of Bheramara upazila, there has been a complaint of using fake NID card ID card (500524183227) and changing the year of birth in employment. Rajeev Ali upazila Ansar and VDP officer Tarun Kumar was bribed with a large amount of money for the appointment of Ward 1 Party Leader of Bheramara Municipality on March 25, 2024. Tarun Kumar took money from ordinary Ansar members by syndicate with upazila Ansar officials and VDP party leaders. Also enlisting untrained persons for electoral duty of VDP members with fake certificates. The victims, who did not wish to be named, said that an advance deposit of Tk 1 to Tk 2000 per head was taken from VDP members to register for duty at polling stations. There was no exception to this in the last national twelfth parliamentary election. The victim general member said, I study in Bheramara College. According to friends, Ansar took responsibility at the polling station as an ordinary member of VDP for pocket money. Thus every Ansar has to pay money to the ordinary members of the VDP. Rajeev’s father Bahar Ali said, I have a homestead in Dakshin Bhavanipur. Currently I live here with my family. I bought land in Farakpur. I heard that son is trying for Ansar VDP job. Upazila Ansar and VDP official Tarun Kumar said that there is no opportunity for any member’s money to be taken by anyone else. Because every member’s money is sent to their own Rocket account. And Rajeev Ali’s papers are currently under police verification. He also said that the district commandant appointed party leaders and party leaders in every ward of every union and municipality in the district. The name of Bahar Ali in my ward Farakpur is Zia and holding number, road number and voter area code 462 of Farakpur will be mentioned in the voter ID card of the municipality. Bheramara upazila election officer said, providing wrong information on national identity card or carrying fake and multiple identity cards can result in maximum imprisonment of seven years and 10,000 taka monetary fine according to the draft of National Identity Registration Act 2009.
Kushtia District Commandant Shafiul Azam told the district representative, “I am in all upazilas including Bheramara upazila and there have been corruptions and irregularities in the appointment of former Ansar VDP members, which will not happen during my time. All of you, including the journalists, will campaign for 100% transparency in every recruitment and I will never do corruption in my working life and I will not allow anyone to do it and if anyone does, I will take full administrative action against him, InshaAllah.
