An emergency meeting was held on the initiative of District Lawyers Association to protest against the attempt to kill Md Safiul Islam, a member of Dinajpur District Lawyers Association.
This emergency meeting was held on Monday (21 October 2024) at 2 pm in the auditorium of Dinajpur District Lawyers Association. In an emergency meeting, lawyer Mo Sofiul Islam was demanded to quickly arrest those involved in the assassination attempt and bring them under the law.
Dinajpur District Bar Association President Md Tahidul Haque addressed the emergency meeting in which senior lawyers Md Yusuf Ali, Md Asir Uddin, Md Rafiqul Amin, Md Kabir Bin Gholam Charlie, Md Abdul Aziz Mondal, Md Mostafizur Rahman Mostak, Md Fazlul Haque addressed the emergency meeting. , Amirul Islam Tufan, Md Abdul Mannan Molla Manik, Md Abdul Halim, Md Khairat Ali, Anwarul Azim Khokon, Md Abdur Baki, Deputy General Secretary of District Bar Association Richard Murmu, Member of Bar Association Advocate Md Mahfuzur Rahman Khan Bipul, Md Tarikul Islam Tarek, Sathi Das, Social Welfare and Religious Affairs Secretary of District Md Tozammel Haque Liton conducted the event.
It is to be noted that last October 19, at approximately 2 am, terrorists poured petrol in the bedroom of lawyer Mo Safiul Islam and set it on fire at his home in Ganipur village of Fulbari upazila in the dark of night. His hands and face were burnt while sleeping in this fire. His brother Rakibul Islam was also burnt in this incident.
