SM Suman Rashid, Amtali (Barguna) Correspondent : A housewife named Tinni Akhter (20) was killed by her husband’s stick on the charge of adultery in Amtali, Barguna. Accused husband in this incident. Locals arrested Monirul Islam (22) and handed it over to the police.
The incident took place in Tarikata village of Arpangasiya union of Amtali upazila on Tuesday (December 3) night.
When the husband talked about stopping his wife from adultery and correcting it, the wife also misbehaved, at one point in anger, husband Monirul hit Tinni on the head with a stick.
Later, her husband and mother-in-law took her injured to Amtali Upazila Health Complex.
The detained husband Monirul (22) is the son of Harun Khan of Tarikata village of Arpangasiya union of Amtali upazila and the deceased Tinni is the daughter of Nizam Howladar of Chawra Chandra village of the same upazila.
Monirul Islam’s cousin Noor Alam said that Tinni and Monirul got married eight months ago. After marriage, Tinni got involved in extramarital affairs.
When the incident came to light, marital discord arose between them.
He also said, but even then, on Tuesday night, Tinni was caught by Monirul while talking to her estranged lover on the mobile phone. At this time, Monirul got excited and hit Tinni on the head with a stick. Tinni became unconscious. Later, when Tinni was taken unconscious to Amtali Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared him dead.
Officer in charge of Amtali police station. Ariful Islam said that accused Monirul has been arrested. The body of the deceased has been sent to Barguna Hospital Morgue for autopsy.
