SM Sumon Rashid, Amtali (Barguna) Correspondent: Barguna Police Superintendent Md. Ibrahim Khalil confirmed this information at a press briefing at Amtali Police Station on Monday.
Barguna police conducted a drive and recovered a total of 14 stolen cows according to the information of thief Liton Dhali. At the same time, thief Liton Dhali was arrested.
The police superintendent said that the police are working relentlessly to maintain law and order, including drugs, terrorism, theft, robbery and kidnapping.
Last Saturday night, four cows were stolen from the cowshed of Lutfar Howlader of Dakshin Amtali village of Amtali Sadar Union. He filed a case at Amtali Police Station on Sunday in this incident. On the instructions of Barguna Police Superintendent Md. Ibrahim Khalil, the police conducted a drive at Amtali Police Station to arrest the gang of thieves. Later, they arrested thief Liton Dhali along with four cows from Chaula Bazar of Atharogachia Union of the upazila that night. The value of the 14 cows recovered by the police is estimated at Tk 10 lakh. Police said that the arrested thief Liton Dhali is an active member of an inter-district thief gang. On Monday, the police handed over the 14 recovered cows and thief Liton Dhali to the Amtali Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.
There are three cases against thief Liton Dhali in Dhaka’s Kotwali and Amtali police stations.
Barguna Additional Superintendent of Police Zahirul Islam, Abdul Halim, Assistant Superintendent of Police Ruhul Amin, OC Md. Ariful Islam Arif were also present at the press briefing.
Amtali Police Station OC Md. Ariful Islam Arif said that the police are working hard to maintain law and order. The operation to control all crimes will continue.
