Ambassadors’ security concerns, advisers assure solutions

Ambassadors of various countries stationed in Dhaka have expressed their concerns about security. The foreign advisor of the interim government said that the government has assured to solve it quickly  Touhid Hossain.

On Monday (August 12) at 3:00 pm at the Rashtriya Guest House Padma, he said this to the journalists after a meeting with the ambassadors/high commissioners of various countries appointed in Dhaka and the heads of various organizations. Foreign Secretary Masud bin Momen was present at the time.

He said the ambassadors were called to be briefed on the context in which the government’s intentions have come. We have said that those who brought about the change in the Revolution had some demands. They want to establish a state without discrimination, that is the purpose of this government. That is why this government is working. We have sought the help of the international community. They came forward and welcomed.

He said, still we said we want regular interaction with everyone including the United Nations. Human rights concern many of them. I have said that one of the issues of non-discrimination is human rights. Besides, there are several representatives working on human rights in our advisory council, I told them that too. We are very serious about human rights.

The adviser said, we have expressed some regrets about some of the problems that have occurred to them, and have discussed some solutions. Security has been discussed. Although no one was injured, they showed their concern. Their security is often lacking. The army provided some security. There is no security at the ambassador’s residence. I have said about this since the police have come down to the streets and started descending.

Representatives of various countries and organizations including the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, and China were present at the briefing.
