In the speech of the chief guest of the condolence meeting and doa mahfil, Jamaat-e-Islami central working council member and Comilla Metropolitan Ameer Kazi Deen Mohammad Sajidul Islam Omar narrated the tragic shooting death and said that judicial commission has been set up for all the injustices of the Awami League government during the past 15 years of dictatorship. Investigation and trial should be arranged.
A doa mahfil organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Bijaynagar upazila branch was held in memory of Sajidul Islam Omar, who was killed in the anti-discrimination student movement, at Adampur Fazil Madrasa ground of the upazila at 4 pm on Saturday, August 31.
Jamaat-e-Islami Bijayanagar upazila branch president Maulana Abu Saeed Sarkar was present as the chief guest, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami central working council member and Ameer of Comilla metropolis Kazi Deen Mohammad.
Under the supervision of Upazila General Secretary Maulana Mozzamel Haque, Brahmanbaria District Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Md Golam Farooq, District General Secretary Maulana Mobarak Hossain Akand, District Deputy Amir Kazi Yakub Ali, District Publicity Secretary Kazi Sirajul Islam, Comilla Metropolitan Assistant General Secretary Kamruzzaman were also present. Sohel, Brahmanbaria district legal affairs secretary Ed. Moniruzzaman, upazila Jamaat Islami leader Dr. Ali Newaz, Ishaq Sarkar, former central publication editor of student camp Rajibul Hasan Bappi, district camp president Atiqul Islam, upazila president Al Mamun etc.
Mourning meeting and doa mahfil Prayers were offered for the souls of all the victims of the anti-discrimination student movement including Sajidul Islam Omar. Meanwhile, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami gave a cash donation of Tk 2 lakh to the family of the deceased Sajidul Islam Omar.
