The principal of Comilla Victoria Government College Professor Dr. finally resigned in the face of students’ agitation. Md. Abu Zafar Khan and Vice Principal Mrinal Kanti Goswami. There were allegations against them of collecting extra fees from students, corruption and arbitrariness.
They resigned in writing at their office on Wednesday (August 21) at 1:30 pm. Before this, the students had been protesting against various irregularities and corruption of the principal for the past few days. Last Wednesday morning, they gathered in the campus and started protesting demanding the principal’s resignation. At one point, they blocked him in front of the principal’s office in the two-storey administrative building and started chanting different slogans.
At that time, the angry students removed their names from the nameplates of the principal and vice-principal. The resignation was confirmed by the principal himself. He said the students asked for resignation, so I resigned. He didn’t want to say anything more.
According to the victimized students, this principal-vice-principal used to extort huge sums of money, sometimes this fee, sometimes that fee. On May 23 this year, the teachers club of the college and the members of Amra Muktijoddha’s children unit filed a written complaint against the ACC chairman at the main office in Segunbangicha of the capital.
Incidentally, Professor Dr. Abu Zafar Khan served as Head and Vice-Principal of Mathematics Department of Victoria. Appointed as principal on August 8, 2021.
