Auto driver Sahir Ali (45) was arrested by Aditmari Police Station of Lalmonirhat with 190 bottles of Fensidil inside the seat of the battery operated auto rickshaw. He was arrested from Namuri Bazar on Namuri Sialkhwa Road in Palashi Union of Upazila on Saturday (May 13) afternoon. The detained driver Sahir Ali is the son of Saket Ali of Chandrapur area of ​​Kaliganj upazila.
Aditmari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozammel Haque said that on a tip-off that drugs were coming from the Indian border on the Namuri Sialkhwa Bypass road of the upazila, the police station along with the traffic police set up a check post in the Namuri market. At that time, Sahir Ali’s autorickshaw coming from Chandrapur was intercepted and 190 bottles of Fensidil were seized after searching the seat box of the vehicle. A passenger in the auto-rickshaw escaped but the driver Sahir Ali was arrested by the police. A case under Narcotics Control Act has been filed at Aditmari police station against the arrested driver Sahir Ali and the absconding passenger.
