Accused of murdering expatriate’s wife arrested within 12 hours

12 hours after the body of a housewife named Runa Khatun (30), the wife of Qatar expatriate Anichur Rahman, was recovered from her home on Sunday, the police have solved the mystery of the murder and arrested 3 people involved in the murder.

The arrested are Milan Sheikh (30), son of Khalil Sheikh of Muchidah Khamardangi village of Pangsha upazila, Techem Sardar (16) son of Alam Hossain and Riyaz Zoaddar (15), son of Kazem Zoaddar.

Superintendent of Police GM Abul Kalam Azad confirmed the matter through a press briefing in the conference room of Rajbari Superintendent of Police on Monday (August 21st) morning.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim, Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police (Pangsha Circle) Suman Kumar Saha, DIO One Biplam Kumar, OC (Investigation) of Pangsha Model Police Station Iftekharuzzaman and local print and electronic media journalists were present.

Superintendent of Police said that Runa Khatun (30), the wife of a Qatari expatriate, was brought out of the house and strangled to death by tricking her into giving him a measuring machine. 3 people were arrested within 12 hours of this incident.

Superintendent of Police said that in this incident, under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Pangsha Model Police Station, Mohammad Masudur Rahman, the police raided various places in the Police Station area on Sunday night and arrested Milan Sheikh, Shishu Techem Sardar and Riaz Zoaddar involved in the murder. Mobile phones stolen from them and evidence used in the murder were recovered. They confessed to the murder in preliminary questioning.
