Mashahid Ahmad, Moulvibazar: The murder of Fakhrul Islam (35) in the Khardwara canal of Agiun village of Upper Kagabla Union No. 4 in Moulvibazar after more than 3 weeks has passed, but the main accused Raihan Mia and other accused could not be arrested by law enforcement agencies. . Local residents including the family of the deceased were angry. Police say that efforts are on to arrest the main accused and other accused. It is reported that on October 13, around 3.50 pm, Md. Titu Mia had a fight with Golap Mia over spreading nets in the Khardwara canal. Led by Golap Mia, around 4 pm Sulfi, iron pipe , attacked with indigenous weapons including sticks, jata, slaves. The seriously injured Fakhrul Mia was brought to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital with 250 beds and the doctor on duty declared him dead. In this attack Md. Titu Mia, Mitu Mia and Fakhrul Islam and other injured received first aid at the hospital. At the scene, the agitated local crowd handed over a woman named Sumna Begum to the police. In this incident, Fakhrul’s elder brother Md. Titu Mia became plaintiff, Raihan Mia (20), Matiur Rahman (20), Golap Mia (60), Alfu Mia (63), Makhlu Mia (33), Akbar Mia (55), Sumna. Begum (23), Ala Mia (65), along with unknown 2/3 people filed a case (No-21/311, Date : 14/10/2024) at Moulvibazar Model Police Station. Complaints of family members including the plaintiff in the case – the accused are roaming around. Threatening them. The defendants are harassing them by shifting their domestic cows to other places and making false dramas of cow theft, vandalism and looting. When asked about this, SI Samchhul of Moulvibazar Model Police Station said – Efforts are on to arrest the accused. The plaintiff’s allegation that the defendants are roaming in the area is not correct. When asked about the theft, vandalism and looting of domestic cows, he said – it is theirs.
