A tourist died after drowning in Cox’s Bazar sea water

A tourist named Md. Shahjahan (40) died while bathing at Cox’s Bazar beach. The incident took place on Tuesday (April 25) at 1.30 pm at Labani Point on the beach. The deceased tourist is the son of deceased Abdul Khalek of Shulakbahar area of Panchlaish Police Station of Chittagong. The matter was confirmed by the Tourist Police Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Molla Mohammad Shahin. He said that in the morning, Shah Jahan went down to take a bath with his family members at Labani Point on the beach. At one point he was swept away by the current. After learning about the matter, the life guard members rescued him from the sea in a daze. He was immediately taken to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital and the doctor on duty declared Shahjahan dead. He also said that the body has been kept in the mortuary of Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital.
