RAB-5 has recovered a foreign pistol from the house of an identified arms dealer at Chakpara Simante in Shibganj, Chapainawabganj.
On Thursday (January 11) night, Chakpara Simante of Chapainawabganj Shibganj upazila was raided and arrested. He also has an arms case against him earlier.
The arrested arms dealer is Enamul Haque (56), son of deceased Kayes Uddin of Aparchakpara village.
The RAB press release said that the arrested accused Enamul Haque’s house is close to the Chakpara border, which gave him the opportunity to easily get involved in illegal arms smuggling and trading. Based on the secret information received by RAB, the news came that Enamul was collecting weapons from the border. He kept that weapon in his house for supply. RAB’s intelligence team increased surveillance on the accused. Later after 12 o’clock in the night accused’s house was searched and he was arrested with 1 foreign pistol, 1 magazine and 21 rounds inside the paddy drum inside the store room.
RAB informed that a case has been registered in Shibganj police station of Chapainawabganj district in the said incident.
