A fire broke out in the commercial complex of Kharampur shrine in Brahmanbaria’s Akhaura on Thursday around 8:30 am. The fire destroyed the kitchen of a food hotel on the ground floor of the building and the wax factory of a shop. The office room of the two-story building was also damaged by the extreme heat, as well as the VIP room. Later, a fire service unit and local people tried to bring the fire under control for about one and a half hours. It is known that the first fire broke out in the kitchen of Jahangir Mia’s Food Hotel on the lower floor of Kharampur Mazar Sharif Commercial Complex in the morning. Later, when the fire spread, the candle factory in a nearby shop was also burnt. The shophouses were lofted over two canals. Due to the intense heat of the fire, the windows of Mazar Sharif’s office room and two ACs and two fans of the VIP room were also destroyed. Initially, it is estimated that the fire caused a loss of several lakhs of rupees. Md. Abul Hasem Khan Khadem, member of the management committee of Kharampur Mazar Sharif, said that the fire broke out around eight in the morning. I don’t know how to start a fire. However, it is believed that the fire may have started from the kitchen of the hotel.
