 A press briefing was held on the occasion of the inauguration of house transfer program with land to landless and homeless families in Barura, Comilla. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sabrina Afrin Mustafa held a press briefing for journalists at Barura Upazila Parishad Auditorium on Monday 7th August at 11 am. In a press briefing, on the occasion of Mujib Barsha, the Hon’ble Prime Minister congratulated the journalists and officials of various departments present at the press briefing on the occasion of the auspicious inauguration of the landless and homeless families in the 4th phase and the 2nd phase, and said that the poor and sad bottom of Bengal was the cherished dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. In the Mujib centenary, “Not a single person of Bangladesh will be homeless” in order to implement the directive of the honorable Prime Minister, the program of providing land and houses to all the landless and homeless families of the country is ongoing. As per the latest updated list in Barura Upazila and Mujib Centenary as per the latest updated list in Barura Upazila and Mujib Centenary, first phase out of 25 houses to rehabilitate 377 landless and homeless families total including Deora Mirer Bari (Municipality) 11, Deora Dada Bhai Market (Municipality) 12, Bhateshwar (Adda Union) 2 total. 25 Phase II Out of 138 houses Deora Dada Bhai Market (Municipality) 36, Ghazaria (Bhauksar Union) 52, Raja Mara (Khoshbas South Union) 3, Gopal Nagar (Khoshbas North Union) 6, Kanpur-Amratali (Shilmuri North Union) 7, Shushunda (Municipality) 9, Pilgiri (Adda Union) 16, Manduk (Adra Union) 9, making a total of 138. In the third phase, out of 159 houses, Muggaon (Bhauksar Union) 6, Ganda Mara (Payalgacha Union) 7, Ekbaria (Adra Union) 8, Manduk (Adra Union) 27, Sudra (Payalgacha Union) 12, Sudra Oichhar Bari 41, Sudra Paschim Para 12 , Krishnapur (Adda Union) 46, total 159. In the 4th phase, out of 55 houses, Krinchpur (Adda Union) 17, Harishpur (Adra Union) 9, Doghai (Payalgacha Union) 8, Kakairtala (Adra Union) 21 total 55. “Not a single person will be homeless in Bangladesh” during the Mujib centenary. In the implementation of this instruction of the Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the advice of the Honorable Member of Parliament of Comilla 08 (Barura) Constituency Naschimul Alam Chowdhury Nazrul and the overall guidance of the Comilla Deputy Commissioner, the implementation of the instructions of the Honorable Prime Minister in the Mujib Centenary and all the landless of this upazila. And the upazila administration is working tirelessly with the overall support of the Barura Upazila Task Force Committee to rehabilitate the homeless families. He also said that if 32 families are rehabilitated at this stage in Barura upazila (according to the rules), there will be no more landless and homeless families. A proposal to declare Barura upazila landless and homeless has already been sent with the consent of the Honorable Member of Parliament. On August 9, Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will declare Barura upazila landless and homeless free along with other upazilas. He wished everyone’s cooperation in realizing the dream of the Honorable Prime Minister. Upazila Executive Officer Sabrina Afrin Mustafa ended the press briefing by thanking everyone present.
