Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the public meeting of Awami League. He appeared on stage at Rangpur Zilla School ground at 3:25 pm on Wednesday (August 2). He will address as the chief guest at the Rangpur Divisional Public Meeting organized by Rangpur District and Metropolitan Awami League.
Rangpur Metropolitan Awami League convener Dr. Awami League General Secretary Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader is present as the main speaker in the public meeting presided over by Delwar Hossain.
Besides, former Minister of State for Primary and Mass Education Motahar Hossain, former Minister of Shipping Shajahan Khan, Minister of Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Presidium Member of Awami League Advocate Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Presidium Member and Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Joint General Secretary and Information Minister of Awami League. Dr. Hashan Mahmud, Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed, Water Resources Deputy Minister Enamul Haque Shamim, Awami League Treasurer HN Ashikur Rahman, former Culture Minister Asaduzzaman Noor, Awami League Organizing Secretary SM Kamal Hossain and Sujit Roy Nandi and other central leaders are present on the stage.
Earlier, the helicopter carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from Tejgaon Airport arrived at Rangpur Cantonment Helipad at 2 pm. Then the Prime Minister went to Circuit House by road. Awami League president participated in the meeting after exchanging views with departmental level officials there. On her visit to Rangpur, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate 27 projects worth Tk 1,240 crore and inaugurate the foundation stones of five more projects.
According to Rangpur district administration sources, Sheikh Russell Media Center, Sheikh Russell Indoor Stadium, Sheikh Russell Swimming Pool, Pirganj Upazila flood relief project, Divisional Women’s Sports Complex, Palichra Stadium, Naleya River re-dredging, Alaikumari River re-dredging, Pirgacha Chaudhurani GC to Shathibari RAD 579 meters road (Peergacha section), Pirganj Vendabari to Khalashpir GC road rehabilitation, Kaunia upazila Tepamdhupur GC to Paotana GC via Bhayarhat road rehabilitation, Mithapukur upazila Jaigirhat-Pirgacha via Balarhat road 96 meters PSC on Gopalganj Ghat river. Construction of girder bridge, construction of 40m RCC variable depth girder bridge on Burirhat GC-Kakina RAD road in Gangachara upazila, construction of three-storied Pallimari government primary school cum flood shelter in Kaunia upazila, Rangpur Medical College multipurpose building, divisional health director’s office building, 10 beds in Payraband union of Mithapukur. Eminent Begum Rokeya Mordan Hospital, Helencha 10 Bed Mother and Child Welfare Centre, 10 Bed Mother and Child Welfare Center at Chatra Union, Pirganj, 10 Bed Mother and Child Welfare Center at Khalashpir, 10 Bed Mother and Child Welfare Center at Motherganj, Rangpur City The prime minister will inaugurate the construction of grassfont plant and store yard, Bharardah Bill, Patoa Kamri Bill re-excavation, Chitali Bill re-excavation, Rangpur City Central Bus Terminal, Naimunna Bill re-excavation in Ward No. 29 of the Corporation.
