Two Jamaat-Shibir leaders arrested in Joypurhat

Two Jamaat-Shibir leaders have been arrested by the detective police in Joypurhat. They were arrested around 3 pm on Sunday (July 30). The arrested are – Jaipurhat district Jamaat-e-Islami secretary Golam Kibria (45) and president of a madrasa student camp in Sadar Nahidul Islam (24). They are residents of Hanail area of Sadar. According to the police sources, on December 24 last year, Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists were trying to sabotage in Saguna area of Sadar. When the police went there, the cocktail was detonated. Two accused have been arrested in the case of that incident. District Intelligence Branch (DB) Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahed Al Mamun confirmed the matter and said that one of the two arrested is the secretary of the district Jamaat and the other is associated with the student camp. They were sent to jail by the court this afternoon.
