Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Malek, MP said that Sheikh Hasina’s government has worked for women’s empowerment since assuming power. Due to the timely efforts of Sheikh Hasina, the empowerment of women has happened all over Bangladesh. Starting from the great national parliament, say the police, say the court clerk or say the business, women have now come forward everywhere. Out of 230 admitted in Dhaka Medical College this year, 120 are women. Remaining 110 boys. A few days ago, 10,000 doctors were appointed. Among them 6 thousand are women, 4 thousand are men. Women are ahead in BCS exam. Women are running businesses and families, becoming self-reliant. These did not happen just like that; Empowerment of women is one of the big dreams of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Due to the relentless efforts of the Prime Minister, women in Bangladesh are now playing an equal role with men, taking Bangladesh to a better position.

This was said by the Health Minister in the speech of the chief guest at the orientation class and swearing ceremony of newly admitted medical students of Dhaka Medical College this morning.

The health minister expressed his anger about the fact that many people after studying medicine have gone to administration or police cadre after passing BCS. The minister said that the government spends more than crores of rupees to complete MBBS in a government medical school. These are people’s tax money. People bear the cost of medical studies for students, so that in the future they will become doctors and treat people. But if they don’t do that and go to police or administration cadre through BCS, people waste crores of rupees. There was no need to study as a doctor if he went to another profession after studying for so many years to become a doctor.

Dhaka Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Dr. Shafikul Alam Chowdhury, the president of Bangladesh Medical Association, also attended the meeting. Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, Director General of the Department of Health Education Professor Dr. Md. Tito Mia, director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. J. Dr. Md. Nazmul Haque, Secretary General of Freedom Physicians Council. Kamrul Hasan Milan and other leaders.
