Residents of Ber Kalwa village of Kaya union of Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia district have organized human chain and protest march against the family of brave freedom fighter Abdul Khalek and harassed with false cases.
Several hundred men and women of the area participated in the human chain held on Thursday afternoon on July 13, 2023 in Ber Kalwa village, including the victim freedom fighter Abdul Khalek. At that time, the brave freedom fighter Abdul Khalek claimed that some terrorist groups in the neighboring Jail neighborhood have been harassing his family and people around their house for a long time with false cases and attacks. In continuation of this, when a man named Montu Sheikh was shot dead in the attack of the opponents in Jelepara village on Monday night on July 10, the opponents filed a false complaint in the name of my family and the people of the area at the police station. The victims have also requested a proper investigation of this incident and the intervention of the administration to get rid of it.
In this regard Kumarkhali police station OC said, we investigate and punish the guilty through law. We got this independent Bangladesh for the brave children of the nation. If anyone complains against a brave freedom fighter, we cannot arrest him, in that case the culprit must be identified through proper investigation. Regarding this human chain and protest program, Acting General Secretary of Children and Progeny of Freedom Fighters Kushtia District Branch, Sheikh Suvin Akhter said, “We will not sit at home if any brave freedom fighters and their families are unjustly attacked and sued anywhere in Kushtia district. Our organization will resist it at any cost. We are not outside the government and we respect the law, so we want to ask the administration to quickly find the criminals and take action under investigation. Otherwise, our organization “Mukti Joddha’s children and generation” Kushtia district branch will be forced to hold a strict movement program at DC Court Chattar along with all the oppressed families.
