Md. Tauhidul Islam, a policeman of Patuakhali’s Bauphal police station, was seriously injured after being hit by a truck. The killer driver was caught trying to escape.
The accident took place on the Kunduppatti Kalaiya-Bauphal road in Bauphal municipality on Wednesday (July 12) around 9 pm.
It is known that the cargo truck (Dhaka Metro T20-7539) from Kalaia was traveling on the way to Barisal and on the way, it collided with a Honda in the Kundupati area near the police station. His hand was crushed by the wheel of the truck.
He was first taken to Baufal Hospital for treatment. Later, when the condition worsened, the doctors quickly sent him to Barisal Sherebangla Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
In this regard, Bauphal police station OC ATM Arichul Haque said that the killer driver has been arrested and the truck is in police custody.
