Patuakhali Dumki No. 5 Srirampur UP In the election, the general member (member) candidate of Ward No. 2 Md. Jalilur Howladar (rooster) attacked the election campaign and beat and injured 2 supporters of the rival member candidate Biplab Akon and his supporters. Sagar Palawan (20) and Barek Palawan (40), who were seriously injured, were rescued and admitted to the Upazila Hospital. The attack took place at Brijghat near Palawan house of that ward around 9:30 pm last Saturday. Injured Sagar Palawan and Barek Palawan alleged that due to the anger of member candidate Jalilur Rahman’s cock marker election campaign, the rival member candidate Biplab Akon and his elder brother Jasim Akon suddenly attacked them in Brijghat area and seriously injured them. At that time local people rushed to rescue them and admitted them to Dumki Upazila Hospital. In this incident, member candidate Jalilur Rahman has demanded trial against his opponent BiplabAkan for violation of election conduct rules including obstruction of election campaign and Returning Officer and Dumki. Separate complaints have been filed with the police station. Denying the allegations, Biplap Akon said, “We did not attack, we were attacked.” Attackers are lying against us to avoid responsibility. Officer-in-charge of Dumki police station Md. Abul Basha admitted the truth of the complaint and said that legal action is being taken subject to investigation.
