The number of dengue fever patients is increasing in Kushtia. Seven dengue patients have been identified in the 250-bed General Hospital in Kushtia in the last four days. All of them are under treatment in hospital. However, since Eid, there has been an increase in dengue patients in this district. The affected persons are undergoing treatment at the local health complex and at their respective homes. Kushtia General Hospital Resident Medical Officer (RMO) Dr. confirmed this information on Monday (July 10, 2023) afternoon. Tapas Kumar Govt. He also said that seven dengue patients are under treatment in this hospital in the last four days. Most of the people affected by dengue are from outside the district. Do not panic and consult a doctor. Kushtia Civil Surgeon Dr. AHM Anwarul Islam said, since Eid, dengue patients are being found in the district. Dengue is a viral fever and does not require antibiotics to cure. General hospitals and all upazila health complexes in the district have the necessary facilities for dengue detection and treatment. So don’t panic if you have dengue fever and consult a doctor. He also said that to prevent dengue, it is necessary to use mosquito nets while sleeping and prevent the spread of mosquitoes. Aedes mosquitoes lay their eggs in clean water that collects in abandoned pots, flower tubs or can shells. For this reason, water cannot be allowed to accumulate in any container unnecessarily. At the same time, he advised to keep the surroundings of the house clean.
