10 people including women and children were bitten by dogs in Ashuganj

At least 10 people, including women and children, were injured by mad dog bites in Brahmanbaria Ashuganj. The dog chased and bit injured people in Tarua, Kharasar and Naoghat villages of Tarua union of upazila on Sunday from 11 am to 1 pm. Seven of the injured are undergoing treatment at the 250-bed Brahmanbaria General Hospital. The remaining three received first aid locally.
The doctors in the hospital are Hamida (24), Lamim (6), Mihir (12), Yamin (5), Lamisha (3), Fahim (10), Khadija (10). However, the doctor in charge said that the condition of none of them is serious.
Relatives of the injured said that a mad dog first bit people in Kharasar village. The dog later bit several other pedestrians while moving to Tarua and Naoghat areas. Among them, four children suffered injuries to their backs and legs.
Tarua Union Parishad Chairman Badal Sadi confirmed the matter. He said that he came to know from the local media that some people were injured by mad dog bites. He inquired and found out that the injured were receiving treatment in the hospital.
