The parliamentary committee has asked to form a five-member committee at the upazila level to name roads and social institutions after the brave freedom fighters. This was said in the meeting of the Standing Committee on the Ministry of Liberation War of the Jatiya Sangsad on Sunday (July 9). The meeting was held in Sangsad Bhavan under the chairmanship of committee president Shajahan Khan. Committee members Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, Major (retd) Rafiqul Islam (Bir Uttam), AB Tajul Islam and Kazi Firoz Rashid were present in the meeting. The meeting reviewed the progress of the Independence Pillar project under construction at Suhrawardy Udyan; The final report of Sub-Committee No. 11 was presented and discussed in the main committee. Besides, the implementation progress of the decisions of the 35th meeting was reviewed. In the meeting, it was recommended to form a five-member committee at the upazila level in naming roads, bridges, culverts, social institutions, etc. after the brave freedom fighters. A pictorial presentation of the development activities of the properties owned by Muktijodha Kalyan Trust was shown in the meeting. In view of the report presented by Sub-Committee No. 11 in the meeting, it is recommended to bring some design changes in the construction of the burial ground of the brave freedom fighters. Additional secretaries of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, heads of various organizations and related officials of the Ministry and National Parliament Secretariat were present in the meeting.
