Officer-in-Charge (OC) Swapan Kumar Majumdar and Sub-Inspector (SI) Monirul Islam of Rajbari’s Goalundo Ghat Police Station have made a written complaint to the Inspector General of Police, Dhaka Range DIG and Superintendent of Police Rajbari. A businessman named Imran Hussain.

According to the complaint, OC Swapan Kumar and SI Monirul Islam took 2 lakh 70 thousand cash from businessman Imran, two expensive mobile sets of Samsung brand and mejjul khejur brought from India, 15 Punjabis under the threat of arrest.

Victim Md. Imran Hussain said that OC Swapan and SI Monirul Islam have been threatening to withdraw the complaint since he testified about his complaint in the Sadar Circle Office. He was also given anonymous threats to drop the charges. He said that he is under threat of death by complaining to the superior officers in this incident.

OC Swapan Kumar said, no bribe money, mobile phone and Punjabi were taken from Imran. Mohammad Ali, a representative of Imran, was arrested on May 24th from Daulatdia Vishnapalli under Section 151 and the accused was sent to the Rajbari Court. Imran requested me a lot to release him but I sent him to court. Enraged by this incident, Imran is tarnishing his reputation by making false allegations against senior police officers.

Additional Superintendent of Police of Rajbari Sadar Circle has confirmed the truth of the complaint. Iftekharuzzaman. He said it is a departmental matter of the police. I have been given the responsibility of investigating the complaint. The matter is under investigation.
