A child tragically died in a road accident at Baharchara in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar. The accident took place on LGED road near Shamlapur Gonoshasthaya Kendra last Sunday (July 2) at 10 o’clock in the morning. Afnan, a three-year-old child, died on the spot after being hit by a careless easybike while visiting his grandmother’s house. The e-bike was being driven by a 12-year-old child rider. The child’s relatives alleged that the accident was due to the inefficiency of the driver. The owner of Ghatak Easybike is Noor Nabi of Baharchhara-Hoikang Dhalarmukh area. For a long time, he was engaged in driving TomTom with children and making profit. Child Afnan is the son of expatriate Malaysian Akhter Hossain of Jahaspura locality in Baharchhara. In this incident, instead of the joy of Eid, the shadow of grief has descended on the family of child Afnan’s grandmother and grandfather. Meanwhile, the speechless mother is sometimes fainting or sometimes fainting after losing her son. In this regard, Baharchhara police outpost in-charge Mosiur Rahman said that the easy bike in which baby Afnan was buried was seized and brought to the outpost. Legal action will be taken on the complaint of the child’s family.
