17 thousand pilgrims arrested while performing Hajj in Saudi

The country’s security forces have arrested more than 17,000 pilgrims who went to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj illegally.  The arrest operation was conducted till Friday.  They were arrested for attempting to perform Hajj without permission and for performing Hajj.
According to Saudi Arabia Director of Public Security and Head of Hajj Security Committee Lieutenant General Mohammad Al-Basami, 17,615 pilgrims who came to perform Hajj illegally have been arrested.
Among them, 9 thousand 509 people were arrested for violating residency laws, border security laws and 105 people were arrested for running fake Hajj camps.  They have been sent to court after their arrest.
He also said that 2 lakh 2 thousand 695 people have been sent back from Makkah border. They had no permit to perform Hajj.  Apart from this, 1 lakh 28 thousand 999 vehicles without license were not allowed to enter Makkah.
33 persons transporting pilgrims without permits have been arrested and referred to the Administrative Committee under the General Directorate of Passports for action against them. All preparations are made for the safety of Hajj this year.  Many organizations have worked in this regard.
