Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted raids in border areas and other places of the country in June and seized various types of smuggled goods and arms and ammunition worth a total of Tk 184 crore 36 lakh 43 thousand. Legal action has also been taken against 183 smugglers and 85 Bangladeshi nationals, 5 Indian nationals and 37 Myanmar nationals for crossing the border illegally, including Yaba, for their involvement in various types of drug smuggling and other smuggling. Shariful Islam He said that Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 11 kg 228 grams of gold, 14 kg 200 grams of silver, 1,70,599 cosmetics, 7,168 imitation jewellery, 22,320 sarees, 2,658 Threepieces/lehengas/shirtpieces/sheets/blankets, 1,793 ready-made garments, 2,526 cubic feet of wood, 8,829 kg of tea leaves, 22,050 kg of coal, 1,917 kg of current/thread netting, 2 rough stone idols, 60 Kg Tortoise Bone, 725 Kg Gamaxin Powder, 6 Trucks, 14 Pickups/Tractor/Trolleys, 2 Buses, 3 Private Cars/Microbuses, 18 CNG/Easybikes and 86 Motorcycles. Recovered weapons include 1 pistol, 2 magazines, 1 mortar shell, 16 rounds of ammunition and 10 kg of petrol bomb-making powder. Also last month, BGB seized a large amount of drugs.
