On the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, a six-day holiday has been announced at Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria. However, at this time, passengers from both countries will pass through the port’s immigration check post normally. This information was informed in the notice signed by General Secretary of Akhaura Landport C&F Agent Association, Phokran Ahmed Khalifa and General Secretary of Import-Exporter Association, Shafiqul Islam.
The notice said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, all kinds of import-export activities will be closed from June 27 to July 2. Import-export activities at the port will resume from July 3. Akhaura International Immigration In-Charge Hasan Ahmed Bhaiya said that even if the import-export activities through the port are closed for six days, the passage of passengers with passports of the two countries will be normal. It should be noted that more than half a hundred types of goods are exported to seven hill states (known as the Seven Sisters) including Tripura state in the eastern part of India through the Akhaura land port.
