An allegation of attempted rape of a madrasa student (15) was found in the area adjacent to Muradia Panchayat Bazar of Dumki Upazila of Patuakhali. Yesterday, Saturday (June 24) at around 9 o’clock in the morning, this attempted rape incident took place. According to local sources, in front of the house, Salampur Aminia Senior Madrasah (15), the granddaughter of Rattan Gazi’s daughter in the village of South Muradia of the upazila, found him in front of the house and forced Rajiv (20), a drug-addicted lustful son of Ful Gazi (relative uncle) of the same house, who was coming from the east, to press his face. Attempted rape in an abandoned house on the east side. When the neighbors rushed to the student’s call to save Sambhram, the lustful Rajiv ran away. Later, the locals rescued the madrasa student and brought her to her grandmother’s family. Lumpy Rajiv has been on the run since the incident. As the accused Rajib’s family is influential, efforts are being made to cover up the attempted rape incident through the local justice system. Muradia UP Chairman Mizanur Rahman Sikder visited the spot after receiving the news and confirmed the truth of the incident and assured strict prosecution of the accused locally. Officer-in-charge of Dumki police station Md. Abul Basar informed that he has heard the incident and said that if a written complaint is received in this regard, legal action will be taken.
