Committee formed to remove abandoned raw market of Gulshan

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has formed an 11-member committee to urgently remove the abandoned ‘Gulshan Raw Market (North)’ of Gulshan-2. On Tuesday (June 20), Dhaka North City Corporation informed this information. Earlier, DNCC Secretary Mohammad Mamun ul Hasan issued an office order constituting this committee.

Secretary Mohammad Mamun ul Hasan said in an office order that Mofizur Rahman, councilor of local ward number 19 of DNCC, has been summoned to the 11-member committee to take measures to remove or demolish the Gulshan raw market (North) declared as abandoned in Gulshan-2 on an urgent basis. Besides, the Regional Executive Officer of Zone 3 of DNCC has been made the member secretary of the committee.

The secretary said in the office order that the committee formed will adopt an action plan to remove or demolish the Gulshan Raw Market (North) building declared as abandoned on urgent basis and implement it. Besides, this committee has to complete all activities as soon as possible as the matter is very urgent. The learned Executive Magistrate has been appointed to remove dilapidated buildings in public interest. This committee has been entrusted with the responsibility of the learned Executive Magistrate as well as the committee to arrange for the removal or vacating of the building in public interest at the earliest.

It is reported that the other members of the committee are – Additional Chief Engineer of Dhaka North City Corporation, Chief Property Officer of DNCC, Chief Revenue Officer of DNCC, Executive Engineer of DNCC and 5 representatives of Shop Owners Association of this market.
