Keeping in mind the motto “Ensure education and protection of children, stop child labour”, a workshop on elimination of child labor-2023 was held at the end of the World Child Labor Prevention Day rally jointly organized by the district administration and the Directorate of Inspection of Factories and Institutions and World Vision Bangladesh, Dinajpur AP. On the morning of Monday 12th June 2023, in the workshop held at District Administration-Dinajpur Conference Room (Kanchan-1), under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Debashish Chowdhury, Deputy Director General of Directorate of Factories and Institutions Inspection, Dinajpur Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Bhuiyan gave a welcome speech. World Vision Bangladesh, Dinajpur ACO Senior Manager Arvind Sylvester Gomez discussed child labor as the main speaker. Md. Robin Mia of Labor Inspector (Health) Deputy Inspector General’s Office and Abul Basar, Deputy Director of Factory and Establishment Inspection Directorate, Dinajpur discussed the topic. Project Officer Richard Tapas Das highlighted World Vision’s child labor activities through the project. Deputy Director of Women Affairs Department Morshed Ali Khan, General Secretary of Shop Owners Traders Association Zahir Shah, Assistant Director of Social Services Directorate Munir Hossain, President of Child Labor Group Samiul Islam participated in the open discussion. Speakers said – To prevent child labor there is a need to change the social attitude against child labor and at the same time social and behavioral change of the people.
