Jatiya Party Chairman and Opposition Deputy Leader Member of Parliament Golam Mohammad Quader said, if you follow Sri Lanka, you will see that they had a reserve crisis. They could not bring oil, they could not bring coal. Due to which their power plant was shut down. They could not import different products simultaneously. There was massive inflation among people in general. Ordinary people were losing their jobs. The common man was losing his income, and the price of goods was rising. He said, Bangladesh is going through that situation now. Sri Lanka is getting many products at lower prices than Bangladesh. We have inflation, our people’s income has decreased, unemployment has increased, our reserves have decreased, our imports have decreased. All in all, we are on our way to Sri Lanka. He said all this in his speech as the chief guest of the bi-annual conference of the Tangail District Jatiya Party. GM Quader said, we have a difference with Sri Lanka. The people of Sri Lanka took to the streets, the way the government of that country tackled it, it has been proved that the police is their friend. There was no major opposition. Humans have descended spontaneously. The people of our country have not come down yet, that is the difference. He also said that in the current system of governance, 100 percent power is in the hands of the Prime Minister. It doesn’t matter who got the number of seats in the parliament or the minister during the election there. If the Prime Minister stays then the election government, all governments will be of the same type. Golam Mohammad Quader said about the visa policy at the conference organized at the city’s rifle club, “We support the visa policy.” What has been said in the visa policy has been said for the people, not against. Those who obstruct free and fair elections will not be allowed to enter the country. There will be punitive measures. I don’t see anything to be unhappy here, the government is not unhappy here either. No one is openly saying that no one wants free and fair elections. Anyone can say in their heart. GM Quader also said, during the liberation war, we used to give a poster, why Sonar Bangla Crematorium? Why do you think Sonar Bengal desert now? No water, no electricity, no food. It is not a desert. He said, we have become champions in many things. This time, I became the first in Asia and the fifth in the world in providing money related to narcotics. This information has been published in connection with a foreign organization. According to the information, five thousand crore rupees have been provided for this work. Jatiya Party General Secretary Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Presidium members Abul Kashem, Rezaul Islam Bhuiya, Zahirul Islam Zahir, Mostafa Al Mahmud, Presidium member of Dhaka division Liakat Hossain Khoka and others were the main speakers in the conference organized under the chairmanship of District Jatiya Party Conference Preparation Committee convener Abdus Chalam Chakladar. Jatiya Party district and upazila leaders were present at the time.
