In Daulatdia of Goaland upazila of Rajbari, a bigoted father is being arrested by police for raping his own daughter. The arrested accused is Kalam Fakir (50), son of Paku member of Rahman Fakir neighborhood of Daulatdia Ward No. 9 of Upazila. Goland Ghat police confirmed the matter through a statement on Thursday 8 June.
According to the statement, my father married my mother about 7/8 years ago and moved to another place. Then my father married another woman named Vayla and we have a grocery store near our residence. My father also helps my stepmother in that shop. On June 7th, around 12:15 PM, my stepmother and I closed the shop and went to sleep. At 12:45, the power went out. I was afraid of the dark, so I went to my father and stepmother and slept on the floor of their room. . It was 1 o’clock in the night when my father went out and came back after a while and put his hands on my chest and abdomen. When I screamed at that time, my father asked me to lie on his bed next to my younger brother. And my stepmother and father lay down. And I fell asleep on the bed. Then he grabbed my face and threatened to kill me if I make any sound and forcibly raped me against my will. Iti has been raping me multiple times against my will before.
Swapan Kumar Majumder, officer in charge of Goaland Ghat Police Station, said, “I got information from Hamid Mridhar Hat area that a bigoted father is raping his daughter. On receiving the news, I sent the police to investigate the incident, rescued the girl and arrested her bigoted father. The girl is 16 years old. The accused father has been sent to jail.
