A student’s throat slit body recovered from drug addiction rehabilitation center

Abdur Rahman (15), a student addicted to video games, was recovered from the kitchen of a drug treatment center in Joypurhat. The incident took place at NA drug treatment center at Gulshan intersection of the city on Tuesday morning. According to the police, he was killed by cutting his throat with a sharp weapon. In that incident, the police also detained six people, including Peter, the director of the drug addiction rehabilitation center, for questioning. The deceased Abdur Rahman is the son of Dudu Mia, a van driver of Deor village in Vadsha Union of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila and a student of eighth grade in Police Lines High School. According to police and local sources, Abdur Rahman was addicted to playing video games on his mobile phone. Two years ago, when his father went to the NA rehabilitation center at Gulshan intersection in the city, he was not admitted due to his young age. Later, he was left in the drug addiction rehabilitation center for work. On Tuesday morning, the authorities sent Abu Zafar and Abdur Rahman to the ground floor of the building to take breakfast from the fourth floor of the center. When Abdur Rahman did not return upstairs after half an hour, other people came to the kitchen and saw his bloody body lying there. Peter, the director of the rehabilitation center, was devastated and actually sent Abdur Rahman to Joypurhat Modern District Hospital in a bloody state. The doctor on duty there declared him dead. Jaipurhat Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sirajul Islam said that six people, including the Director of NA Rehabilitation Center Peter, are being detained and interrogated. The body was recovered and sent to the morgue. The reason for the murder is not yet known. However, Abu Jafar, who was with the deceased Abdur Rahman at that time, is absconding, and efforts are being made to arrest him. The case is being prepared in this case.
