RAB-10 arrested 02 drug dealers with 470 bottles of phensidyl and 16 kg of ganja from Jatrabari area of the capital; Seizure of private car used for transporting drugs.
Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation in the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, robbers and narcotics. RAB has continued its anti-narcotics campaign to eradicate drugs with the slogan “Let’s go to war, against drugs”.
In continuation of this, on the morning of 29 May 2023 AD, a raiding team of RAB-10 conducted an operation in Rayerbagh area under Jatrabari police station of the capital Dhaka and seized 470 (four hundred and seventy) bottles of Phencidil worth approximately Tk 18,90,000/- (eighteen lakhs and ninety thousand) and 02 drug dealers were arrested with 16 (sixteen) kg of ganja. Name of arrested drug dealers 1. Md. Rajan (42) and 2. Known as Md. Sukkur Ali @ Sohail (23). Meanwhile, 01 private car used for transporting drugs and 02 mobile phones and cash- 500/- (five hundred) taka were recovered from them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested persons are professional drug dealers. They had been collecting phensidyl and ganja and other narcotic drugs from different border areas of the country and supplying them to different areas of the country including Dhaka. A drug case is pending against the arrested persons in the respective police stations.
