The 50th anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman receiving the Julio Curie Peace Medal was celebrated in Brahmanbaria. On this occasion, a colorful procession, discussion meeting, prize distribution and interesting cultural programs were organized by the district administration on Sunday afternoon. Helal Uddin At that time, the speakers said, Bangabandhu always stood for the oppressed and oppressed people. He fought for peace all his life. Bangabandhu was the undisputed leader in the freedom struggle since the mass uprising. Julio Currie received international recognition after the independence of the country. This was the first international medal won by any state leader in independent Bangladesh. Later, prizes were distributed among the 21 winning students who took part in the quiz and drawing competition to mark 50 years of the Julio Curie Medal. At the end, a wonderful cultural program was held by local artistes. Before this, a procession circumambulates the main thoroughfare of the municipal area.
