Muradnagar in human chain in protest against case against journalist

 Comilla’s Muradnagar Press Club President Abul Khair and General Secretary Mahbub Alam Arif have been human chained to demand the withdrawal of false cases against 10 journalists. Muradnagar Press Club, all journalists working in Muradnagar Upazila and civil society of all professions of Muradnagar organized an hour-long human chain in front of Muradnagar Upazila Parishad at around 11 am on Friday. On May 22, the Senior Judicial Magistrate of Comilla filed a case against 10 journalists, including the President and General Secretary of Muradnagar Press Club, in the speedy trial court against Habibur Rahman, who concealed the identity of the journalists and termed them as terrorists. In the case, he alleged that two people in his personal office were beaten and vandalized. Later, when a person named Azizur Rahman Roni went to Muradnagar Upazila Health Complex with the injured, he was also severely beaten. The speakers in the human chain said that a kuchkri mahal filed this false case against 10 people including president and general secretary of Muradnagar press club to strangle the free journalism of Muradnagar. This case must be withdrawn immediately, otherwise a strict agitation program will be given.
