3 arrested along with main owner of terrible kidnapping syndicate in Cox’s Bazar

RAB has discovered a dangerous kidnapping ring led by an expelled SI of the police. The remaining two members of the gang are Md Munna (30), son of Md Yunus, son of Md Yunus of Ward No. 2 of Cox’s Bazar Municipality, and Md Yusuf, son of deceased Abdul Karim of the same area. According to RAB sources, Md Shahjahan Kabir, a resident of Dhaka Uttara, went missing on May 16 while visiting Cox’s Bazar. And Manzoor Alam. Later, unidentified persons called from a mobile number and demanded a ransom of Tk 15 lakh from their family members. Shahjahan and Manzoor were not released even though a partial ransom was paid by the family. After abducting another couple, the gang members raped the wife one by one after tying the husband’s hands and face without getting the demanded amount of money. Inhuman torture was carried out on the husband. Relatives of the abducted persons paid a ransom of more than two lakh rupees to Vikas, but they were not released. The kidnappers demanded much more money. Apart from brutal beatings, the abductees are also threatened to be killed if they do not pay the ransom as demanded. When the relatives informed the RAB about the matter in desperation, the RAB started working. As a result, the RAB found two secure and secret hideouts of this syndicate in Kalatali and Sugandha Point area of ​​Cox’s Bazar city. Later, raids were conducted on these hideouts overnight, first two members of the gang from Kalatali and later raided another hideout in Sugandha area and arrested the head of the gang and suspended Sub Inspector (SI) SM Iqbal Parvez. According to RAB, the head of the gang Iqbal Parvez 2021 On December 17, while working as a police SI, he was caught by RAB with a large amount of yaba. In addition to serving a long term in prison, he also lost his job in that incident. After being dismissed from service and released from jail, SI Iqbal along with his brother-in-law Munna, along with 7-8 accomplices, formed this lucrative syndicate of kidnapping trade. Gang members used to target and abduct people visiting Cox’s Bazar from different parts of the country and call their relatives to demand a large ransom. Last Friday (May 19) Mosammat Amena Begum, the sister of abducted victim Shahjahan Kabir, filed a case against the arrested accused in Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station. filed RAB has confirmed that the accused and the rescued persons have been handed over to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Police Station for further legal proceedings.
