Members of Nepal Bahini arrested with weapons

A British (30) member of the Nepal Army was arrested with a country-made one-shooter in an operation by the Rajbari District Intelligence Branch (DB). The arrested is the son of deceased Abdul Sattar Chowdhury of Khanganj Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila, Nepal. Md. Shaheen Chowdhury alias Briton was arrested in a raid at his house on Wednesday night (May 11). Rajbari DB OC Md. Moniruzzaman Khan said that after the arrest, the British admitted that the Nepali army chief’s brother’s son Salam was running the group. Bachchu Sardar, one of the members of the Nepal Army, handed over the weapon in a bag to the arrested British on the evening of May 10.

DB has learned on the basis of secret information that two more unidentified persons led by Bachchu, one of the members of the Nepal Army, are armed at the spot. At that time, Bachchu and two other unidentified persons fled after sensing the presence of the band members led by DB OC Moniruzzaman.
The OC of DB also said that the Nepalese army used to commit robberies on river routes and spread influence in various places by showing weapons. The OC also said that a case has been registered against the British arrested in this incident under Arms Act at Rajbari Sadar Police Station and efforts to arrest other accused are continuing.
