Arrested while cheating on DB identity

Police arrested two persons named Shaheen Alam (24) and Saidul Islam (25) on the charge of cheating on police identity. They were arrested from Bulupara in the city on Tuesday (09 May) at 11 am. The arrested are from Ganeshpur village of Dhamurhat upazila of Naogaon. Shahin Alam, son of Sahadul, and Saidul Islam, son of deceased Yakub Ali, a resident of Rail Basti, Jaipurhat city, are said to be. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Joypurhat Police Station Sirajul Islam said that they threatened Azahar Ali, a resident of Bulupara, as a drug dealer, posing as a DB officer. Later, when he demanded money from that person, he gave them 3 thousand taka. If their behavior is suspicious, bystanders call the National Emergency Service 999. A police team went there and arrested the two imposters who were impersonating the DB police. Toy pistols and fake police identity cards were found with them. Detainees are being interrogated. Legal action against them is in process.
