Sultana Ahmed Sagarika of the third gender caste nomination form for the reserved women’s seat in Rajshahi on Tuesday. He will contest in Zone-7 (19, 20 and 21) seats. He was accompanied by Din Alo Hijra Sangh advisor Sharif Suman, Divisional Hijra Guru Rina Khan, Din Alo Hijra Sangh President Mohana and Treasurer Julie. Sagarika said while talking to reporters after collecting the form, she could not survive in school after ninth grade because she is a third gender person. He dropped out of school because of the criticism of his classmates. Not only that, due to the continuous torture of the society and surrounding people and the constant humiliation of his family, at one time he had to leave his home and parents. Then his struggling life began. He has various bitterness and experiences. He said, children of the third gender are not people of Bhin Graha. They are people of this family, society and country. They also came to this world through some parents. They are human too. But regrettably, a class of people do not want to accept them as human beings. But the government has recognized them. He thanked the government that he was able to participate in the election today with others due to the government’s recognition and being a voter. He crossed all the barriers of the society and now he wants to serve the people. He wants to come to social service to show that third gender people can love and serve people like everyone else. And Sagarika requested prayers and votes from the ward residents for this opportunity. He also said that he is basically working to create a platform. Where he can stand and speak about the rights of the public and the people of his community. He is talking to people in the field every day about various issues. People want a different kind of leadership. Hijras have more communication skills than others. Women councilors cannot run at night. Men are also hesitant to work with women. But growing up transgenders is different from others. They can stand in danger of people at any time. Stating that there are challenges in the polling field, Sagarika said that rival candidates are spreading various words in the polling field. They say that oppression will increase if Hijras are representatives of the people. They are trying to bring forward the previous ideas about transgenders. But people have learned to love them too. In many places their community representatives are doing well. He will also overcome all obstacles and do good work. And this opportunity will be given by the voters of this ward. Note that Sagarika’s house is in Shalipara area under Shahmakhdum Thana of Rajshahi Nagar. He is one of the four children of his parents. Father is dead. Currently lives with mother and sister. He goes home occasionally. Sultana is taking care of her mother.
