Two civilians were killed in a Ukrainian attack on a village in the Bryansk region of Russia. The mayor of that region confirmed this information, according to Russian media. Al Jazeera news. Ukraine shelled the village of Suzemka, east of the border between the two countries. The mayor of Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomaz, confirmed this information on Sunday, according to a report of Russia’s Tass news agency. In a message posted on Telegram, Bogomaz said, “Unfortunately, two civilians were killed as a result of the attack by Ukrainian nationalists.” According to preliminary investigation, one residential building was completely destroyed and two other houses were partially damaged, he said. Emergency personnel are working at the scene. A cannon hit a residential building in Suzemka before the major attack, the governor said. This resulted in partial damage and one person was injured. Officials in eastern Ukraine also said Ukrainian shelling killed nine people, including an eight-year-old girl, in the city of Donetsk. However, Ukraine has never publicly claimed responsibility for the attacks inside Russia and in Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine such as Crimea. Before this, Russia launched a large-scale missile attack on various cities of Ukraine, including the capital, Kiev. 25 people including four children were killed in the attack on a building. Besides, 18 injured people have been admitted to the hospital. Ukrainian officials say the missile struck a building in the city of Uman in the country’s central Cherkasy region. 25 people including four children lost their lives. 27 out of 46 apartments in the building were completely destroyed in the attack. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian military intelligence officer told local media on Saturday that more than 10 fuel storage tanks with a capacity of about 40,000 tons of oil had been destroyed. However, both sides have denied targeting civilians.
