Jammu and Kashmir was shaken by the earthquake. The earthquake was felt early Sunday morning local time. At that time, many people left the house in fear. However, no damage or loss of life was reported from this earthquake. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.1 on the Richter scale.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake was felt at 5:15:34 AM. The source of the tremor was five kilometers below the surface. Earlier on April 28 midnight, Jammu and Kashmir was shaken twice.
The National Center for Seismology reported that the first tremor had a magnitude of 4.8 and the second had a magnitude of 5.9. The epicenter of the earthquake was Dahakot in Bajura district of Nepal. As per Nepal local time, the first tremor was felt at 12 pm that day. The second tremor occurred around 1:30 am.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration has decided to set up an Emergency Operation Center (EOC) to protect residents and help reach the affected areas quickly due to repeated tremors.
These centers will be established in the districts which are in earthquake prone areas. These centers will help to reach common people in any natural disaster, not just earthquake.
A few days ago, a strong earthquake hit Indonesia. The magnitude of the earthquake was 7.3 on the Richter scale. Authorities urged people to be alert after the earthquake struck on Tuesday local time. Several aftershocks were felt after the strong earthquake.
