A young man named Chhaidul Haque (42) died in an attack by the opponent over the cutting of boundary trees in Khurushkul under Cox’s Bazar Sadar Upazila. He died yesterday morning (April 27) while undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Chaidul Haque is the son of deceased Chaiyed Alam of Tetaiya Saudagar neighborhood of Khurushkul Union of Sadar Upazila. He is a CNG driver by profession. According to the family sources, Yusuf, his son Omar Hamza, Ismail and some other people from that area beat Chaidul Haque on the night of April 24 and the next morning. He was seriously injured by an ax on his head. He was first admitted to Cox’s Bazar District Sadar Hospital. Later the doctor on duty referred to Chittagong Medical College Hospital. Chaidul Haque died on Thursday morning while undergoing treatment there. Faiz Ullah, a local resident, said that Chaidul Haq had a long dispute with the neighboring Yusuf over a tree on the border of his residence. In the meantime, Chaidul Haque stopped the opponents from cutting the tree. He died after being beaten by his opponent. Inspector (Investigation) of Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station, Md. Nazmul Huda, said that the incident happened over a boundary dispute. The police visited the spot. Legal action will be taken against the guilty persons after investigation.
