Accused died in police custody in Rajbari

An accused named Alamgir Hossain Miji (45) died in police custody in Rajbari. He is the son of Abdul Matin of Nimtala area of Shahid Wahhabpur Union of Sadar Upazila. This incident took place in court police custody on  25 april (Tuesday) evening.

Rajbari Court Police Inspector Mominul Islam said there was an arrest warrant for two drug cases against Alamgir. He was arrested in that case. He was produced in court on Tuesday afternoon. The next date of the case is fixed on July 4. He was intoxicated and physically ill. While in police custody, Alamgir fell ill around 6:30 pm. Later, when he was taken to Sadar Hospital, the doctor declared him dead.

In response to a question, the court police inspector said that writing the court order is often delayed. Because of this, the jail is delayed. The reason why the accused died will be known after the post-mortem.

On April 26 (Wednesday) afternoon, 10/12 accused persons were seen from outside the court custody. Almost all the convicts are suffering from bad smell and extreme heat inside the custody.
