A student named Riyasad Faisal (19) died after drowning in a pond in Cox’s Bazar. Last Sunday Faisal’s dead body was recovered from a pond in Bahaddarpara Nijbari of Magnama Union of the upazila at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Riyasad Faisal is the 2nd son of Magnama Union BNP president Faisal Chowdhury and a student of the Marine Academy. Sayed Khan Shanto, cousin of the deceased said Riyasad had come to the village home to celebrate Eid with his family members. Last Sunday afternoon, he along with his brothers and cousins went down to the pond of his house and had a satar competition among themselves. At one point he sinks into the water. Later, the family members rescued him and took him to the Upazila Health Complex, where the doctor on duty declared him dead. Faisal Chowdhury, the deceased’s father, confirmed the matter.
