Four people were caught red-handed while selling tickets at an extra price by raiding the Brahmanbaria ticket counter of the privately managed train. Among them is a member of the Railway Security Force (RNB).
Those who have been jailed for different periods are, ticket seller Md. Salahuddin (30), RNB member Biplab Das (29), ticket black marketer Ayesha Khatun (35) and Arafat Mia (32). Among them, Salahuddin and Biplab were sentenced to six months and Ayesha Khatun and Arafat Mia were sentenced to four months.
Brahmanbaria Sadar Upazila Residential Officer (UNO) Mohammad Salim Sheikh conducted the operation. At the end of the operation, he told reporters that an operation was conducted against ticket black-marketing at the railway station on Saturday afternoon. At that time, four people were arrested and sentenced to different terms.
