Two teenagers were killed in a lightning strike while flying a kite in Barura, Comilla.
According to local sources and the emergency department of the Barura Upazila Health Complex, on Monday, April 28, at 12 noon, Fahad Hossain (12), a sixth-grade student of Haripur Aganagar High School, son of the deceased Md. Khokon Mia of Uttar Para, Payalgachchh village of Khoshbas Uttar Union, Barura Upazila, and Jihad Hossain (13), a sixth-grade student of Haripur Aganagar High School, son of Md. Billal Hossain, and Abu Sufian (7), son of Iqbal Hossain, were flying kites in the field near their house while studying at their uncle’s house.
The two teenagers died on the field after being struck by lightning. Later, when they were taken to the emergency department of the Barura Upazila Health Complex, the doctor on duty declared them dead. And Abu Sufian, who was in a critical condition, was sent to the Comilla Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
